Hello all,

I am really going at it with the ideas today but I like sharing what I think.

I like playing Necromancer ALOT and Minion Master is part of that. Here is what I have come up with

New visual minion types.

It always bugged me and I bet alot of necromancers that most of the minions look the same (ie Animate Bone Minion, Animate Bone Horror, Animate Vampiric Horror)

How about this??

1. Animate Bone Minion: Summons two Hellhounds http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Hellhound
2. Animate Vampiric Horror: Would summon a flying Vampire Bat that would basically do the same but look like a large flying bat, could be undead or not
3. Always wanted to be able to command a Smoke Phantom like the Vizier at can in various missions http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Smoke_Phantom
4. Since the arrival of Nightfall I've REALLY been wanting the Necromancer to be able to create/summon and control a Demon creature, you are a necromancer after all, with all the evil magic and stuff?

I agree with the smoke phantom... however I think it should be an elite and useable as an alternative to the flesh golem.

The demon though makes no sense, yeah necros delve into the dark arts, but demonolgy isnt one of them. They raise the dead, they dont summon demons... if we do that then we would have to add a whole other attribute for it basically allowing them to also summon imps and such.

Well it may sound sort of Odd, but I could see a Demon creature being part of the Blood Attribute.

As Blood and stuff has always been part of rituals to summon them. Does this not make sense?

What do you think of the replacement for Bone Minions / Hellhounds and Vampiric Horrors to / Vampire Bats?

/signed. I like the idea of the smoke phantom as an elite. The hell hounds would be cool too. Maybe the hell hounds could have a poisonous bite.

Nobody likes the Vampire Bat idea or the increased synergy between Death Magic / Blood Magic by having a Blood based Demon creature to summon?

Smoke phantom is cool but it will not be different than Flesh Golem. Flesh Golem is Demon type also. Why do you want 2 elite that do the same thing just different animated? If you say make smoke phantom cast some spells then it will be even more ridiculous!

/sign on the hellhounds...they look cool and shouldn't be too hard for the developers to switch them in for the current "mini" horrors.

don't agree with the phantom though. necromancers pull up fleshy formations from corpse material, and don't deal in phantoms or spirits.

not sure about the demon thing. don't think that fits with nec either in this game (ie, they're not warlocks)

As a Necromancer, Vizier Kilbron can raise Smoke Phantoms. Flesh Golem IS a minion, because he is crafted from the remains of a corpse.

I dont figure how people dont like the idea of a synergy between Death and Blood for a Demon type minion.

Technically Minions and Undeads kind of ARE demons. I wanted something different, not with bones I suppose.

In various books, stories and movies, Necromancers have been known to raise, summon or call for demons

ok first of all the vamp horror would be kinda cool as a bat but minions look like spider things in the skill its self [skill]animate bone minions[/skill] and i would like to see those really, they look like jade scarbs.

I could go for undead scarabs, that would be sweet


but sorry for ignoring the other things in your post Mr. OP

Hellhounds.... ok, we could use that model for a minion, but it would have to be under a different name.

Vamp bats - well.... basically we could just fix the skill [skill]Vampiric Swarm[/skill] to something like. You Summon 1...5 Vampire Bats that each hit for 10...35 damage. After the Vampire Bats land 1...3 attacks they die. 20e 1c 30r (Blood Magic Spell)

or something to that effect.

Since I'm working on skill descriptions let's throw some out for the other suggestions.

Animate Bone Terror (Hellhound Model) - Exploit nearest corpse to create a level 1...16 Bone Terror. Bone Terror's attacks cause poison. 15e 2c 25r

Summon Phantom - Exploit nearest corpse to create a lvl 1...16 Phantom. The Phantom casts spells as either an Elementalist or a Mesmer of the same level. 15e 2c 25r

basically the phantom would have a 50% chance of popping out as an Ether Phantom and a 50% chance of being a Smoke Phantom.

PvE Only Skill that I want to see in GW:EN

Animate Bone Dragon
Elite Spell. Exploit nearest 5...3...2 corpses to animate a level 3...21...25 Bone Dragon. The Bone Dragon leaves an exploitable corpse. The Bone Dragon can attack at range. You can have only one Bone Dragon at a time.
10 Energy - 3 Activation - 45 Recharge

As for the unique skins for [skill]Animate Bone Minions[/skill], [skill]Animate Vampiric Horror[/skill], and [skill]Animate Bone Horror[/skill], that sounds copasetic.

LOL could you see the effectiveness of Terrors/Shambling Horrors?

If there WERE a Bone Terror minion, I would make it the FIRST minion to move FAST (Normal Attack speed though), since its a 4 legged Hellhound (and other minions are always slow as mud).

Here is my suggestion for a skill

Grenth's Persuit:
For 5-45 seconds Allied Undead Move 50% faster. Grenth's Persuit ends if allied Undead deal damage.
Sacrifice 10% health 10 Energy, 2 Activation, 30 Recharge

I think it is better to suggest new Minion (spells), rather than asking to change the skin of existing Minions (as I think they look fine). Thus would be better to invent new skill that summon Bat-like or Phantom-like minions instead (both interesting ideas)

On side note.. I will join in... (this one I made some time ago)

Animate Bone Cutter
15 energy | 3s cast | 10 second recharge
Spell. Exploit nearest corpse to animate a level 1...14 Bone Cutter.

A Bone Cutter does melee attack, but have same attack area as a scythe. This make them able to do more damge to more foes, and can be pretty powerful when get lots of them.

Oh, and I do like Animate Barbed Runner.. but would also do a minor change.
For one, make it so that it can also do melee damage/attack, but have low hp/defense/duration. And upon death, have a build-in Death Nova effect (AoE pierce damage).

Also would suggest more Death Nova type of skill, something like
Rotting Nova: upon death of enchanted creature, damage all foe around with X damage and cause Disease.
etc.

I like the idea of hell hounds and smoke phantoms but I also think they should be new skills not mods for the old ones. Vamp horrors should be giant mouths with legs. Bone minions should be skeletal very little or no flesh at all, maybe imp like in design.

hella signed for the Bone Dragon elite. A uber minion with ranged attacks would be fun and nice to see.
